For those interested the current price of Fairbourne screen is £260 + VAT + delivery. They offer a fitting service at £30/hr with typically 1.5 hours being required. Fitting is reversible.

I am in the same position as Tim - my aero screens have cracks and need replacing.

As it looks like this is going to affect every M3W with plastic aeros at some point maybe we start a TM group buy scheme ?

If MMC had produced the originals from polycarbonate and ensured there were no sharp corners that my induce stress concentration points, there would never have been a problem.
Polycarbonate is used for vandal-proof light fittings and windows and is very impact resistant.

Yes my passenger screen is showing stress cracks which I guess are emanating from the locating tabs.

It would be nice if they were resistant to petrol too .....

They used my cracked screen as a template, and made them from polycarbonate the same thickness as originals.

At a recent M3W club meet I met a guy that had owned a 5 speeder from new in 2013. He had most of the updates fitted but the one that improved his driving experience the most he told me, was fitting the Fairbourne screen.

I went for the Fairbourne screen, ordered Monday received Friday & fitted on Saturday yesterday. Fairbourne do not take plastic so ordered over the phone & they sent their bank details. Thanks to Bunny for the tips & Dan for the step drill suggestion.
My screens were not marked 'inside' but there is a bevel on the lower outer edge & this needs to be cockpit side. I found the new screen very reluctant to go in the slot even after I had dressed with a file to open same width full length. A smear of washing up liquid eased it in. It did not say in the instructions but I slid the centre bracket on & tapped home with rubber mallet before marking for drilling. Even though I had taped up the lower protective film I bit got trapped in the slot so I need to find a slim blade to push it down. The job took a bit over 4 hours.
The screens are made from Lexan Marguard a polycarbonate & I could not find a sealant locally which claimed to be compatible so I ordered some Bond-it HA6. As the slots are not sealed I have temporarily covered the gap with masking tape.
I went for a test drive in light rain. I find the above 40 mph the rain seems to hit the centre of the screen & spread out horizontally. I can still just see over or round so I think heavy rain would still be drivable. Moving my outer hand on the wheel up a bit should give more protection. As it could be described as a modification I spoke to my insurance broker & they thought it would be fine.

Mine was fitted last week. Seems like you can lean left (for a RH drive car) to see through it, or lean R to see over it. Buffeting seemed much reduced on the odd dual carriageway stretch. Noticed my R hand was quite close to the screen when driving 10-to-2 on the steering wheel.

Possibly the only caveat to an unreserved recommendation is the appearance of an official Morgan windscreen option. But that one seems to have tinted edges in the photo I saw. So perhaps the Fairbourne will remain the classic choice!
