For those who have a delight in mechanical intricacy- and a very healthy bank balance. http://www.richardmille.com/watch/rms05/(price tag $105,000)

Gerry, Thanks for posting this, it is wonderful. The Memsahib and I both have a Richard Mille watch designed by him for Marcus in Bond Street before he ( Mille ) had his own company.

How very obscene. One could buy a very nice Mont Blanc for $500-1000, and have a very nice expensive pen, and then donate $104,000 to a worthy cause.
How sad.

Amzing these things get made as well as sold. The last thing I wrote with a fountain pen was my PhD thesis, thats more than a quarter century ago now. Except for taking notes and to do calculations, I hardly write anything by hand anymore, the world has changed a lot. Cheers, Bert

How sad. I suppose one could argue that keeping the employees of Richard Mille in work is a worthy cause?

It's not a pen it's just an expensive collectors item.
I use fountain pens every day but I'm sure that one will be hardly used for writing.

Quite correct, which makes sense of this saying: Fools and their money are soon parted.

Cat302, Whilst obviously respecting your opinion, based on your comment, instead of paying £50,000.00 for a beautiful Morgan, you could buy an MGTF for about £500.00 and give the rest to charity. How is it foolish to love nice things?

I am a self confessed fountain pen nut and collector. I will always use pen and ink in preference to ball point or typing where ever possible not sure I would spend that much on a pen, sooner put it into a watch another of my weaknesses. It used to be my main weakness were pretty girls but age has put paid to that so now it's watches, pens and the Morgan of course

I have a few vintage Parker fountain pens - but rarely write these days. When I do, my writing is so bad that I often write in capitals. Awful.
Ah... watches Keith. I have rather splashed out on those over the years. In one case quite literally and lost an extremely valuable Breguet in the Solent. It's still down there somewhere.
