Hammer and duct tape.
If you can't fix it by hitting it then tape it up and carry on....
Sorry, not that helpful ....

|A few spanners wouldn't go amiss - I broke a crosshead strut in France last summer - 9/16" combination spanner got it off, local lawnmower repair man welded it up for me - managed another 1200 miles around France and got me home without breaking again.

How many miles has your car? How many problems on the road? If none why taking tools, generally you don't have the right one, and on the road it is not easy and dangerous to work. I live and travel in France with a 2005 Plus 4, last September 1700 km, without problem. If problem go to a Ford garage. Breath tester not mandatory.

Re breathalysers, a French law introduced a few years ago states that you are obliged to carry one in your car. However, an amendment to this law states that you will not be prosecuted if you do not carry one, so nobody does.
I am not making this up.

I am not making this up. I've always had a theory (not based on any evidence at all, I might add) that this was because the factory making them belonged to mates of Sarkozy, who brought in the daft breathalyser law. Thus when President Flanby Hollande got in, he shelved it.

We took the Roadster to the South of France last year, and the grease gun was the only tool needed. However, the comment above about speed bumps in small villages is a good one. They seem to have them on the entry to and exit from most, and you need to be prepared to take them slowly. The Roadster 3.7 sump is well protected, and had adequate clearance - except at the next village to where we were staying. We only visited it once!

We are doing the MSCC Italian lakes tour. I already bought the expletive deleted breathalyzers for France!!
Have much the same list & am wondering where to hide the grease gun. Probably I buy a new small one. The car has Devol bushes so every 5,000 m it supposedly needs greasing but I do it at 1k.
