I got a 280 mm from Fisheriessupply.com in Seattle. It was the correct 280mm long, however this is not much longer than the 250mm that I removed, so the level indication does not change by much. The tank is not much deeper than 280mm, so I don't think a longer sender will fit. I just looked at the Fisheries Supply VDO size table on their site, and it listed a depth of 31 inches for the 280mm , I am confused by this. Call them to confirm the actual length before you order.

This is VDO part number for 280mm sender if it helps: 224011000280G

280mm = 11 inches.

They are available on Ebay, there is an outlet there.
This is a beemer unit, maybe better luck there.

Just checked on Ebay, the 280mm is not listed. 250 and 310 are the closest match.

Porche and VW use them as well.

Yep. That IS the number on mine and as I've stated and others have found, it is not the number used by any of the US suppliers. The number you need to order it is a six or seven digit number ( I already stated this above) that comprises the beginning and ending of that longer VDO number. Sorry , but I've misplaced it.

Alright... Went back and researched my order. I bought it from CIP1.com
The correct part number for them or any other USA supplier (probably worldwide) is 224-228.

Thanks,

Thanks to everyone. I found it here for $51.40 with free shipping. 😀

http://www.egauges.com/VDO-Tube-Type-Sender-90-0-Ohms-Adjustable-Gauges-s/23211.htm

Just a note, VDO Fuel sender 90-0 Ohmo Part number 224-228 is 11.1" deep. They also have 224-229 that is 11.5" deep. 🤔

Thanks again,
Timothy
