Adrian,
As you may know I was in exactly the same position 2 weeks ago. I have had a second stenting session on Wednesday and now am the proud possessor of a total of 8 stents.
I have been given the same prognosis - full recovery in 8 weeks or so, so I wish you all the best for a speedy and full recovery.
I'm banned from driving for 6 weeks so am suffering Mog withdrawal symptoms!!!!

Does give you a shock though doesn't it? I never had myself down for this - always fit, played sport, cycled and never smoked - guess one can't beat a family history

Good luck!!!

Dave I would swap you anytime I was a kid in my early teens and got a lumber puncture 4 heavy nurses pinned me face down on the bed . They had to hold me so I could not move a millimeter as a doctor shoved this huge needle up my spine to take fluid from it had I moved I could have been paralysed for life hospitals have moved on. For almost a month I could not stand up as it gives you a violent headache . I remember trying to go for a pee and grasping my head in pain .It left me with a hatred of the needle. pale

I had my appendix out in 1962. It wasn't keyhole surgery, it was letterbox surgery.
The hospital was pure carry on nurse. I learnt a very important thing about women during my six days in there. On my ward (they put me in the childrens' ward), there were two regular nurses. One was gorgeous to look at but hard as nails. The other was, um, of limited attractiveness, but she was the perfect nurse. Caring and kind. I still have that memory.
But the one who adminstered the enema, wasn't either of them, and had a very long middle finger.

There's me lying in the sun with my leg up feeling sorry for myself and then I get an email. Sure fire way of stopping feeling sorry for myself!

Adrian, I always had you down as pretty fit and athletic....or was that my rose tinted specs ? Came as a hell of a shock to hear the news. As has been said, there's no reason you shouldn't make a fully recovery. Does come as a bit of a shock though to realise the fragility of life sometimes. The reason why I splashed out on the Porsche last year!

There are always positive sides to things...in your case, apart from catching it in time.....you will be fussed over by some lovely ladies in nurse's uniforms. I won't mention the bedbaths and the compulsory enema....you can tell us about those experiences later innocent laugh2

Get well soon mate 🍇 roses

Sorry to hear your news, similar happened to my Uncle some years ago and he's been amazed (pleasantly!) by the outcome.

Here's to a speedy recovery.
