I've recently bought this machined oil cap for the Rover V8 engined my Plus 8 and I have to say it's a beaut!

CNC machined from solid aluminium and polished, I'm really pleased with the quality, finish and, I believe, looks a significant improvement over the standard orange or nondescript black that these engines cam fitted with.

If you're interested, the cost is £29 and the contact is Richard Powell on 07718996538. I've no commercial or other relationship other than as an impressed and very happy customer.

Hi John. What are You using for Carbs (or whatever). It looks like 2 of something. Like your oil cap. However; I am one of those that have such a dirty engine I just do not raise the bonnet in public.

Apologies for the obscure headline Button. It's an attempt at a bit of English humour - John is a generic title a bit like Guv or Mate. Motor (spoken with an Essex or east London accent and apologies to those who are from that neck of the woods) is a euphormism for car.

Anyway, to the point: the engine has four Dellorto DRLA 45s.

What an improvement over the OE, a bargain at that price!

David...I see you have a coated manifold. Is it ceramic coating?
If so, how much does it reduce under bonnet temperature?
At Silverstone Classic in 2014 I was quoted £250 per side by Zircotec.
Some nice touches to your engine too.....

Yes it is ceramic done by Zircotec. The manifolds are not standard or Libra ones and have four large bore primaries that join just in front of the door in a collector box. The cost was a tad more than quoted to you.

As regards the under-bonnet temperatures, I couldn't honestly say if it's made a difference. One still gets cooked feet in summer. If you're looking for a difference that's noticeable, you'll probably be disappointed.

I made these. Copied Chris Crane. They looked pretty good then. They are a rusty mess now.

Those look rather nice. I bet the rust is not bad as the heat will keep them in good condition.
