If the MIL is on, then a fault code has been recorded by the ECU. It's certainly worth getting it checked out, and for really not very much money at all you could buy a code reader so you can check it yourself.

I appreciate that with the car under warranty you'll want to take it to the dealer for any work to be done, but it might be good for your peace of mind to know what's going on.

SFO - as I live 12Kms From Wexford, I and a few others will try and catch up with you on 8th May - I reckon you must be staying at the Ferrycarrig Hotel as it's the only one overlooking the Slaney

Cheers!

So glad you like the car Simon. You've done a great write up and it's interesting to see your views coming in as a new Morgan owner. Nice GT3 by the way!

I hope I am proved wrong!

more than happy to show you folks the car

This engine light is due to the ford ecu and piggy back ecu which may be an MBE or omex , nothing is actually wrong it just needs to be sorted by the mog dealer. I had to deal with my engine light issue when I bought my mog off the previous owner who didn't sort it , a bit scary but its an ecu issue not an engine issue .

Obviously a man of good taste this... notworthy

Congrats on your new toy dear Simon - enjoy many happy (s)miles with her!! love

I also thought about this "shed of grey" (or was it shade of...???), but in the result did opt for an old Mercedes Benz solid (grey) color (+ ceramic laquer coats) instead - imho similar subdued & understated (cool) vintage style sherlock
And the combo of grey & dark brown just "works" perfect for me... wine

It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. laugh2

A very fine car and an excellent report!
I like the tech specs of that car! Great buy!

I would prefer non-LED light and other wheels, but that's a matter of taste. The color is nice!

Have fun! vinyllover

I am strangely relaxed about the MIL. But I do want it seen to.

Meanwhile, it's pleasurable just looking at it !

As it's a Cosworth engine, I would have expected Cosworth to put its own ECU or modify the standard Ford ECU.

The is my first grey car -- it is a flat colour but it has the ceramic lacquer coating. I went for it because I wanted an understated shade which works with P4 shape. I love the cuba and grey combination too.

Cosworth don't manufacture their own ECUs, it's a pretty specialised business. MBE Systems of Cirencester are the 'go to' manufacturers for performance ECUs, and they supply Cosworth as well as Morgan, so there's absolutely no reason to be suspicious.

thanks.

I assume that Morgan bought the engine including ECU (tuned/mapped) from Cosworth , so Cosworth should know what to do with the issue with one of their 'off the shelf' engines.
