Ken A......plugs will last a long time but best to remove and check them during annual services. If they look ok and gap is ok then just refit them. Remember...DO NOT overtighten them!
I do 7k+ miles a year and annual checks at service. I put new in 2 years ago so I had a starting point for life for my own satisfaction.
A warm engine will evaporate any water in the plug wells but a cover will prevent rain getting in on a cold engine.
To me your rusty plugs suggest previous owner may have stored the car cold in wet conditions with little mileage done.
Mine is garaged and I use a full storm cover when out and about that covers bonnet louvres. John Taylor Phoenix make. Excellent cover.

The other thing is as these extended life plugs will do very high mileages before needing replacement.. how many garages even take them out on routine servicing? This is a real problem with many Morgans doing such low mileages.. they stay in for years.

They are great covers, i have one. but Sospan , when you are out and about with your cover on, doesn't it get a bit tricky to see through the screen? laugh2

I used one of these on the pre GDI Duratec:

http://www.sico-developments.co.uk/produ...iant=1007828036

It has to be trimmed slightly because of the Morgan water rail mountings and I also fitted it with a neoprene gasket.

It is something Morgan should provide, at least as an option, on all 4 cylinder models.

SteveT,
Yes you are right about moving the plugs every year or so. I've not had my car a year yet and I know from other issues that it's been polished more than it's been maintained.
These new iridium plugs are said to have a long life.

Peter,
Yes I was thinking about something on those lines. Not sure that I want to pay £200 though?

Cheers
John

Unfortunately the Shropmog site uses frames and a link to the index (home page) is all you get if you copy the address.

It is an obsolete concept of web design and they really should transfer to something more user friendly.
