A heads up in case you suffer the same problem.

One Aero had a problem at Castellet which was a fuse that kept blowing. I will check when I get a chance to tell you exactly which one but it is the only 10 amp fuse in the small 2nd Fuse block. It needs to be replaced with a 20 amp.

I haven't done mine yet because I haven't had problems and I gave my spare 20's to JP just in case they were needed for his trip home.

Thanks for the warning.

I have had a look at the fuse box on my S4 and there are three arrays of fuses - one long strip medially, one square array in the centre and one short strip along front edge.

Is the offending fuse in the small square fuse box (if so my car has been upgraded) or the short array (has one 10A fuse marked ABS in which case it hasn't)? I suspect it's the small square box which looks like engine management etc.

Hi guys

IMHO I think it's a bit forward and a bit dangerous to post this as a 'fait accompli'.

Whilst JP's car did blow a 10A fuse and a 20A fuse 'sorted' the problem I would suggest we wait and hear what the factory say before jumping to conclusions that could possibly damage a car. There may be an item served by the fuse that could be damaged by a higher current (desperately wracking my brain back to A level physics).

Ian, I'm sure you meant well but I for one will await what the factory say before posting a definitive answer. After all I did 2000 miles in an S4 and many others have done many 000's of collective miles without hearing of another such problem.

Whilst TM would be more than happy to extend and help announce any recalls or changed I don't feel that TM should be creating them.

Simon, please feel free to erase or correct, if you do not agree with my ramblings laugh

Boshly, I wasn't meaning well, just repeating what the factory technician told the GT3 technician on the mobile when he was fixing the car. Factory explained to him that it should be a 20 amp and not a 10.

FWIW, mine is still running on a 10 amp fuse and OK at moment (I gave my spare 20 amp fuses to the GT3 technician so he could fix the car and upgrade Eric's S4.

I'm a trad man not an Aero- meister but I was very interested to read the various comments. As a number of you ( much better informed than I) have pointed out, the whole purpose of a fuse is to protect the circuit by acting as a 'weak point' which blows before the whole circuit goes.

Ok, upping the ampage of the fuse will sort that fuse blowing but it doesn't sort the root cause. Moreover, circuit melt is always a possiblity with an 'over guarded' fuse.

I'm going to watch this thread with interest.
