The items that I would have created are not stickers, they would be a polished cast metal meant to cover the original sticker temporarily. The original sticker is stuck to painted aluminum, that you can access the back side of, where you would put a couple of strong magnets to hold the metal cover of your choice in place.

Michigan is not a state that requires annual inspection, so I have no worries about removing the sticker. This whole idea came from a discussion that I had via email with someone who received our MOG clubs newsletter, who was rather sure his state required that all manufacturer safety markings needed to be intact upon inspection and was looking for a way to cover the safety sticker temporarily.

Here is a list of every state that requires some sort of an inspection, if your state is in the list it is up to you to know what is required come inspection time:

Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Puerto Rico all require a minimal of one inspection per year (some every 6 months). http://drivinglaws.aaa.com/tag/safety-inspection

Not sure how Maryland got on that list.Maryland requires no yearly inspection, other than the emissions test as to what's coming out of your tailpipe. Been living here all of my 62 years.

Actually when it is bought. I do not have to have a car inspected to sell it. It has to be inspected for a new owner to get their tags.

Removed my sticker the day after delivery. No issues. Small amount of gummy residue left was quickly removed with liquid polish.

Yeah, at this point, interest doesn't look high enough to move forward on even getting an official quote drawn up for production.

If anything, maybe someone found information or interest in their states vehicle inspection rules from this thread :xmascheers:

Maybe you're looking at this the wrong way round, and the solution would be a removable version of the sticker which could be appended for the purposes of inspections rather than a removable logo to cover it.

I had also thought of running a test batch on a white static cling type sticker material and giving it a go. The Talk Morgan sticker and the MOG Great Lakes club sticker on my wind screens are both static cling and have held up well.

OK, test batch have been printed on opaque white static cling sticker stock, I have cut 3 out and applied one. I will see how these hold up and if they do well I can have these produced rather cheaply.
