My Philosophy on the motorbike has always been I will definitely waive if it is convenient and safe to do so. I have a variety of bikes and it is interesting to see who waved at you and who does not depending on what bike you are riding. I'm definitely wondering how the Morgan is going to cross those boundaries.

Same happened to me Roger. Sixth formers crossing road saying how nice the car was. I never replied! Had a load of Japanese girls taking pictures in the Lake District.

Thanks for taking the time to reread the posts Steve.
I opened my original post by saying I love the attention we get and enjoy returning the waves. I get your point about returning a wave when I've already driven by, something I do repeatedly. You suggest this was the only point you meant.
What I didn't get was why you suggest this makes me a misery. The car puts a bigger smile on my face than almost everything else other than my wife and kids. This is why I didn't get what wavelength you were on.
I know you meant nothing by it.Perhaps my frustration at not making my thoughts clear enough came to the fore.
Let me say it again, I love the attention we get and I will wave as much and as often as it's safe to do so. But I will still feel a tinge of guilt if I miss someone waving. I want them to know I appreciated their enthusiasm as much as I enjoy driving the car.

A good point Roger. Until you mentioned the Saville connotations that aspect hadn't occurred to me.
The shame is it's the kids who really love responding, particularly those of pram age or thereabouts. I just love their version of the, "what the hell is that" look.
I always try to say a word or two, mum and/or dad in attendance of course. Got to fire the enthusiasm and interest as young as possible in my opinion.
The shame is that of course we have to be so careful about any interaction in light of the Saville connotations.
That said, I still love the looks on their faces, particularly when you fire the motor up. Priceless.

Barring personal safety, I always make sure to wave back at the kids. I don't care what people think. The fact that kids are getting excited about a car is just awesome! All, or most, of the cars made are cookie cutter style. Supercars are out of 99.8% of everyone's reach and are made of pure unobtainium.
The M3W looks like a kludge of motorcycle parts, WWI aircraft body and bad attitude. Kids love it!
I fell in love with a Morgan Super Sport used in Blake Edward's film "The Party" starring Peter Sellers who drove up in one in Hollywood. It was probably his. I later saw it in Hollywood and just lost it. I must have been ten or so.
We have to pass this on! Wave!
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

I passed a light metallic blue Morgan this aft when I was the Mog
It was in a long queue of standing traffic at some lights on the A59 just passed my village
I raised my arm high aloft but alas neither one of the couple in the Morgan saw me as they both were looking intently down in the cockpit - parhaps looking at a map
I always initiate a wave to a driver of an old classic car and very rarely have not received one back
A morgan gets more than a cursory wave, it gets a full on 'bloody hell its another Morgan' sort of a wave often accompanied by flashing lights, flares, fireworks, a traditional Croston dance troupe and festive music by a 40 piece brass band

This has been my experience. I have yet to see another +8 whilst driving mine. I suspect the resulting celebrations would make the opening ceremony of the Olympics look rather tame.

I've always found TR owners to be particularly good at waving and as enthusiastic as Mog owners. It really is a sad state of fairs if we feel mindful of waving back at children who so obviously are as excited about our cars as us. They're potentially the next generation of owners...

We get waved to by lots of passing admirers whenever we're out in the M3W, pedestrians and motorcyclists when wearing helmets but not so much if we're wearing caps.
Funny old thing that

Drove into the Co-op car park last week in the M3W. As I turned off the engine a young girl said to her mother "look at that racing car". She got a big smile.
