Yes, but like pretty much all car manufacturers, there's a big difference to what was produced in 1986 and that of today - 30 years later... And some of the add-ons listed above your post are "performance" orientated, not "cossetting" No doubt that the ARP4 is a performance-oriented car - it goes like stink and handles extremely well, but it is also very well equipped. I am extremely impressed by it. I guess it's a definition thing, to me a street-legal racer is more like the Baby Dolls, the ARP4 has no roll cage, race seats, 5-point harness, stuff like that - and a jolly good thing too, racers don't make for good road cars.

filled up my ARP4 today, waited until range showing as 17 miles, and fuel gauge showing about 5% full (warning light having glared at me for a while!) .. very daring!
the pump clicked to a stop at 37 litres .. I was stunned, how could it be? How can 17 miles to go take another 18 litres of fuel?? Is the fuel gauge and trip computer that wildly inaccurate?
I decide to trickle fuel in to see how much more I could get in ...
another 12 litres later and quite a few minutes later, I got to 49 litres at the pump, and a completely full tank.
So, trip computer was not wildly out, and is in fact quite accurate as 17 miles would take around 4 litres.
moral of the story? the DTE reading is quite accurate and reliable!

That's encouraging! My first Morgan, a Plus 4 4 seater, used to take ages to move from full to half tank, according to the fuel guage, and about a pico second to drop from half to empty! It was so unreliable that I used to fill up after about 200 miles (plus or minus 20) to be on the safe side regardless of what the guage indicated. It will therefore be a nice novelty to have a Morgan with an accurate fuel guage, even if I have to spend an extra few minutes at the pump. Happy days!

moral of the story? the DTE reading is quite accurate and reliable! I'm no expert on this, but I've been assured if the pump is held at either the 'ten o'clock' or 'two o'clock' position when filling it should allow the tank to fill and not fool the pump into clicking off prematurely. Any use..?
