According to the website http://www.autoroutes.fr/en/vehicle-classification.htm as a trike it should be the same group as a motorbike.

However all but 1 of the toll booths I encountered last year were unmanned and I couldn't see haw to pay a reduced toll.

At the one manned toll booth after a long argument about whether it was a car or not I ended up paying the car toll:(

From my trip last year:

A. wearing helmets with reflective stickers fitted.

I wore a helmet but no stickers

B. Carrying breathalysers

Didn't bother as there's no penalty for not having them

C. Reflective triangle to be carried within the group

Each vehicle needs to carry one.

D. Reflective Tabbard to be carried

One per seat and accessible from within the vehicle.

E. Carrying your licence, insurance and MOT

Yes, licence, original reg document and original insurance document. I'm not sure you need your MOT but it can't hurt to bring it along englandwave drive

From the point of view of a vintage owner, absolutely no-where to stash a reflective tabard if there are two of you in it. One solution that occurs to me is to wear this:
Dickies Hi Vis Jacket

The one I have does have the relevant approval that a tabard bought in the UK would have and is surprisingly warm for a fairly cheap jacket (I've worn mine for scout activities when I want to be seen). No idea if the French would find some minute objection. It obviously is not as good at being a protective outer layer than a leather jacket is.

In France and Germany (and some other continental countries) you don't need a front licence plate and the radars will fotograph your front .... no worries, mate wine

hey waldemar: be very careful when driving in switzerland! they do photograph and radar you from the front and the back!!! in a m3w or a bike, only from behind. they do not need the front plate for a ticket!!! i had to pay 260sfr for being 14km/h to fast in a 50-zone. i did not know it was a 50-zone! otherwise, i would never have been speeding.
2 days ago, a car was doing 175 km/h in a 80-zone. got photographed. licence gone for 2 years, car confiscated and will be sold (money goes to roadcross) and prison time up to 4 years!!!!
so, be verrrrrrrryyyy careful speeding in switzerland!!!

I am sorry to say that the risk for exorbitant speeding tickets together with the general high price level has eliminated Switzerland from my holiday list. The CHF exchange rate does not support my touristic interest while my small watch collection adds value.
