Rather than angeling the pump I had good success by turning the hinge of the inner small fuel spring cap in a 12:00 o'clock position. This solution was posted here on TM some while ago by another member. The turn goes easily by using one finger.

I don't think I have this .. it's just a hole straight into tank once fuel cap is removed

Not impressed with my first Morgan ...
Missed two trips with flat battery - yes I know re trickle charging but flat after one week! Handling terrible because all settings out - needed 4 wheel alignment etc. Steering wheel not even centred. Just limped home tonight sounds like not running on all cylinders and idling erratic from low up to 3000 revs !!! Any ideas before I contact the dealer ? Was only showing 20 mpg and very strangled/ no power under 2500 revs I got another ARP owner to drive mine and he kept checking the handbrake wasn't left on.
Sad new owner .....

take it back to the dealer .. it needs a proper and full PDI done on it.

battery should not be flat so quick .. there is nothing draining it apart from the clock.

sorry to hear about your troubles.

most of all, you cannot expect it to be as well sorted as a Porsche ..

however, the Cosworth engine does not have much torque under 3500rpm .. but it should not feel like the handbrake is on

Hi
Yes Ive asked for it to be collected. My neighbour has one and his goes flat after a week - is it not the immobiliser? Was never expecting Porsche standards of course....
Hopefully things will be sorted.
I have had the tracking done but still get steering wheel wobble/shimmy - is it normal to have some in a Morgan?
Thanks John

mine has no s/wheel wobble/shimmy .. but it is more lively on rough and uneven roads.

you have me worried about the battery .. I have just realised that I have not left my ARP4 unused for more than a week

but I am away for the next 2 weeks !!

Surely you shouldn't need to charge a battery after just a few weeks of it standing idle? These cars may not be from the Porche stable but they're not Ford Anglia's either. Mine should be ready for collection before the end of April but I'm kinda hoping for a hassle free experience from all the latest technology that's under the bonnet - one of the expectations of buying new! Wouldn't hesitate to contact the dealer who in turn shouldn't hesitate to contact MMC who in turn should be pretty embarrassed.

The factory have said yes it is acceptable to go flat after a week and as way of apology offered me a charger for £40 instead of £56 ( ... Mmmm)

Told the dealer of my woes who responded rapidly and apologised. Collecting the car Tuesday. Will update you

Wheel shimmy - my neighbours doesnt but is powered steering. Is yours? Mine is not.
Cheers
