may be a stupid question, but has the bolt 'alien'style walkthrough the front cover something to do with the overheating cambelt problem?!?…or are those two pair of shoes? I have put the 2 mm spacers and vented the cover...have I still have to fear the loosening of the bolt?

I have put the 2 mm spacers and vented the cover...have I still have to fear the loosening of the bolt? Sad to say I believe so, since although in the same general location they don't seem related. Once the crank bolt securing that cambelt pulley loosens, engine rotation speeds its exit through the cambelt cover. A left-hand thread in the original design may have alleviated the issue of course.

When I picked up my car at the dealer after the Centa drive installation he told me he had put Loctite on the camshaft pulley bolt.
This to prevent that the bolt would come loose.
Not sure if he also installed the new kit but I don't think so.
Now I'm in doubt if only this Loctite will do the job.

This to prevent that the bolt would come loose.
Not sure if he also installed the new kit but I don't think so.
Now I'm in doubt if only this Loctite will do the job.
Peter Dron, who suffered the issue in his car BTW, mentioned in his M3W book that S & S advised against the use of Loctite on this bolt - no idea why.

If you are in any doubt that the kit has been fitted , refer back to the picture on page one of this thread. The bolthead is not a hexhead on the upgrade , it is a star torx like shape. Apologies for poor description but the bolt head is radically different on the upgraded bolt.

Thanks Richard & Laurens  that would have been my next question, to put loctide on it...Laurens, in my humble opinion, loctide should do it... it should just be the right loctide for the right thing I use the black one (should be 480, have to check) made good experience with it, holds firm, but no hassle to loose it again without breaking something. The only concern is about the heat, to much heat can loosen the loctide... On the other hand, is the kit pictured one page one the official kit available from Morgan, can it be ordered through the Morgan dealer?

Why not order it from "Matts Machine Shop" like I did and save yourself any margin that MMC may put on it?

My pre "upgrade" engine definitely has a Torx+ headed bolt fitted. I am fairly sure that the replacement bolt in the upgrade kit is a 12 point one, like in the picture. Loctite 480 is an adhesive, if you fit the bolt with that it will never ever come out, even if you want it to. Loctite 243 is a threadlocker and much better for this application.
