Maybe one of this, the Bertucci A-3T Navigator Ti-Matic is titanium and it can be fitted with a leather or nylon strap; the Victorinox Airbox Mechanical is Stainless Steel and it can be fitted with a S.S. bracelet or a leather strap. Both are 42mm in diameter and automatic.
Sorry but I can't make the Victorinox watch image to appear, just the link to it...

I have been really pleased with my Christopehr Ward C70 VW - the looks, function and service of the company have all been great. A small British company taking on the big boys and punching above their weight - sounds family. Their watches are reasonable enough price wise that I will buy from them again.

I also have a 20 year old Omega Constellation which I have owned from new. The second bracelet has now failed/worn out. The price for a new bracelet and a service? A staggering £982!

Ouch!

I bought a few watches in 2004 and 2005 and looking at their retail now they seem to have all doubled in price

Omega, Zenith and Rolex - doubled in 11 years

these are the two new Rolex models for 2016 I'm considering

The new Explorer has a full Chromalight dial, a new harder crystal and a better anti- shock bridge

The new Air-King is 40mm, and has an antimagnetic surround, plus I like the new dial - a bit of colour always lifts a watch dial in my opinion

How about a classic English watch, EGS?

A Smiths is surely ideal for a Morgan enthusiast. The Everest Automatic on my wrist I've worn near to 24/7 since my 21st birthday, 52 years ago. It gains about a minute per week. Sweep second hand, no batteries, stainless steel case and strap.

Lots of information on:

Well just to update my watch dilemmas and after a long think

Today I traded my 1993 Explorer 2 and my gold Zenith Class Elite for a new Rolex 114060 Submariner (no date) steel at Prestons of Bolton

Had a nice morning in comfortable surroundings being plied with lots of cups of tea while the deal took place

I went with the Sub no-date for a number of reasons

A large Chromalite dial for night which is easily readable

Simple uncluttered dial without a date that I can't read without my glasses anyway and never bother setting to complicate things

Great waterproofing so I don't have to worry about it canoeing

Virtually scratch proof ceramic bezel

Great bracelet security clasp and extension so I can wear it over my thermals when I go canoeing

Cost - didn't have to pay much and with it being Rolex I should be able to most of my money back if I ever need to get rid

I also got a free full service ( including bracelet) written into the deal in 5-8 years which can be honoured by any Rolex main dealer
