Hi Glenn. Good to meet you on Sunday !

As you know, I'm a fan of the Vreidstein T-Tracs and I would recommend changing sooner rather than later due to superior road holding in the wet.

I run my fronts at 24psi now (22 rear) but your Conti's are correctly set at 22 all round.

Cheers !

Glenn,
It could be the same problem, tyre age, as everyone rightly says over five years old irrespective of mileage they really need changing. Don't forget you're only in contact with the road on four palm prints, yep that's the contact area, and they need to be good ones in my book.
I favour toyo proxes for my plus 8 but not sure if they do them to suit a 4/4
Good luck, safe driving

Robomog,
Thanks for the advice. Not knowing how old the tyres are, and the fact that only 500 miles were done by the previous owner in the last four years makes an update a more of a priority than I thought. Mmm, that's four tyres and a new Mulfab radiator to find the money for...

Jeremy,
Hello!. Good to meet you and your wife also. The Bromyard FoS was a good day, and there is plenty of Youtube footage already loaded (some very fast parade laps!). This morning I also found a photographer flogging his pictures of the event if you are in there.
Thank you for the vote on Vreidstein T-Tracs. They seem to be a reasonable bargain on the net; I just need someone willing to fit and balance if necessary...

What does anyone think about balancing? There seems to be some division on this. I am currently balanced on wires.

Where are you located Glenn?
Near the Belfry you will find Paul Harris Tyres (advertises in Miscellany) who will provide Vredestein T-Tracs, balance wires etc.
He has a TR4 engined +4, Triumph TR and more than one classic tractor. Good chap to deal with.

Graham,

Hi. I live in Worcester. Paul Harris does seen to get a good write-up from a number of sources. I assume you went there - did you have your wheels balanced? What are you currently using?

P.S. I was G4DXD in a former life (a very long time ago)...

HiQ on the Droitwich Road in Worcester are great. They've done my tyres and MOTs for years.

Glenn, I used Paul Harris for a puncture repair about 4 years ago.
I used Tyre Care in Bromsgrove for new tyres last year, very happy with the service.
It appears from posts here that we have a number of good choice of tyre fitters around this area.

Paul Harris was very helpful on the phone and also supports Miscellany so that is where I am booked in for tomorrow for my new Vredesteins.

Glenn, I used Paul Harris for tyres on my last 4/4, including balancing.
Present car was fitted with new tyres in Kent before I would drive it home - 22year old tyres are not a good idea!

Several radio amateurs on here. I'm not that active, presently.

You have several choices from other posts in this thread - many closer than Paul smile

Cheers,
