The standard Fairbourne GT screen extends above the centre support by 25mm so it should be possible to cut it down a bit. A trial fit may be in order before using the saw. You would still have the wider screen for more hand protection.

I suspect the central mounting pillar may be the same for both versions. Looking closely at GTS version it appears to be a little proud of the curved screen edge.

I agree with others the GTS version suits the car better, and was tempted to mess with my standard one which is both wider and taller. The choice is looks or practicality though so think I will leave as is, especially if pillar is the same height.

The GTS screen looks proud to the same extent if not more. Standard central pillar is 192mm on mine. So I doubt they are the same pillars unless the GTS screen is actually bigger than the standard GT one...


I'm not agreeing either way (just for the record!). GTS looks nice, but even the GT is a tad too short for me. Fairbourne can probably carry on a good business after the introduction of the Morgan screen by offering different height options (and an extra 3cm in the driver line of sight would suit me and my Aussie-style roll hoops!).

Would love Fairbourne to show their "hood" prototype when done, too (still don't know how it would work, mind you, to avoid being blown away on a run... )

I would also like to see the Fairbourne offering of a hood.

It would obviously have to seal against the top edge of the screen which would then force the drive to look through (rather than over) the screen.

This would then necessitate the legal requirement of having wipers for the screen. I wonder how they would overcome that problem?

Demisters are relatively easy to sort out - heated screens are the solution. High current draw, but a small area on a M3W. Wipers are harder though, with the motor and linkage packaging.

Easier to buy a Miata.

Went out with my M3W, on the way back I got the fueltube leaking in the front which sprayed fuel on the driver windshield. It took only 30 seconds for the windshield to be completely crackeled ...so I will need replacement screen.

The Fairbourne GTS screen would be an option ...does anybody know if the Fairbourne is more fuelresistant than the Morgan factory one?

If not, I would stay on the original ones as it becomes less expensive to replace only the brocken one....otherwise having a fuelresistant one would be a nice upgrade in case an other leaking came up...
