Whilst at the factory it was sitting in the PDI shop and my suspicions were confirmed that it would be a sod to keep looking like that.

The polished body arrives at the factory covered in protective latex rubber. I've strangely rather fancied the job of peeling it all off!

Are we really sure it's "polished" aluminum?

Or is it the new water borne chrome paint that's becoming so popular?

I quite like it and the price for the work involved does not seem totally OTT.

Just what is involved with polishing the aluminium on a Morgan

Does anyone know how many man hours?

Hi folks
A guy I know is owning a Threewheeler with this option. Morgan just polished the aluminum and I would assume, that they didn't change that approach.
It really looks stunning in shiny condition, but also gets a really cool patina when you do nothing. Very authentic vintage look. Remove all leather trimming and substitute them by raw aluminum plates and it is getting even more raw. Drill out the standard rivets and substitute them by round head rivets to underline the vintage look.
Best regards
Kurt

When the polished body was introduced as a Brooklands option, the first body was polished by a couple of guys from Germany I believe. It took them two weeks.
I'm sure that's come down a tad but it is a very labour intensive process!

And yes Dan.....you sceptic.....it IS polished alloy, apart from the cowl which remains stainless steel.

I love the look but I have to say I itch to take a very fine grade wire wool and WD-40 to it!
And fit old cracked leather!
