Please help someone who has no practical skills at all....
Has anyone worked out how the adjust the door mirrors on the ARP4? One of mine on the driver's side is very loose where the arm goes into the black fixing on the door and flops around. I can't work out how to tighten that.
Any tips please?

Hi Biffo, if you undo the 2 cross head woodscrews and remove the mirror completely, turn it over and you will see a hexagon 'hole' into which you can put an allen key of the right size, and gently tighten it, clockwise, it won't need to be turned much - DO NOT OVERDO IT, just enough to hold the mirror in position.
Easy. Good luck.

Car has now broken down and the dealers cant fix it - the thinking is that it is a ecu software glitch. Back to Morgan Monday for Cosworth technician to have a look. Pissed off to put it mildly....

At least it won't be as bad as the Evoque which has multiple ECUs. A near new one was having a firmware upgrade here when someone turned off the power. The car was completely "bricked" and could not be fixed. After a certain amount of negotiation the owner was handed a nice new Evoque at no cost to him and the "bricked" car was shipped back to the factory. True story as told to me by the owner's father.

That issue has been around since Freelanders, and has occurred several times, as a result main dealers resist ECU and other computer upgrades on them at all costs. It is not just a power off issue that bricks them but also that there is a specific sequence that has to be followed precisely and if not then it bricks everything. The solution is to strip the car and replace all the computer modules, very expensive, time consuming and costly.

It seems that this sort of upgrade is now done over the internet. Normally the main power of the workshop is turned off at night but it was taking so long that it was not finished at the end of the day so the mechanics turned off all the lights and went home leaving it running. The accountant came past and saw that the power was still turned on and naturally being concerned about the expenditure of 2 cents worth of electricity he pulled the main switch. The rest is history!

If Morgan had bought the Cosworth ECU it would be the case, but they used MBE ECU's, so I doubt they'll be paying for a Cosworth tech to visit and sort but I may be wrong as I often am.. I do feel for you, though. It's hard suffering breakdowns on new machinery. Hope it gets sorted soon for you.
