Simon, you can access the battery by either lifting the ply rear shelf and under tray or if you lift the carpet from the vertical panel behind the passenger seat, you'll find an alloy plate which can be unscrewed. The battery is directly behind that.

Some of the older Morgans (mine included) have a battery isolation switch fitted which will prevent this. If security (insurance) is not an issue you might consider having one of these fitted by your agent or DIY. This is in itself a very good security device and I always use it when playing away from home. http://www.holden.co.uk/displayproduct.a...mp;pCode=SSB112The ECU soon relearns once it's temporary store has sorted itself out on power restoration and a few miles 25 or so. Hamwich's answer sounds like a really good alternative too given that you have no power outlet or sun. p.s. In my earlier reply I assumed you had a Gel battery fitted in the engine bay I hadn't realised they had reverted to somewhere sensible.

Main reason for asking is that it's apparently quite common for Morgan's to have a flat battery after more than 1 or 2 weeks of non use -- at least that is what I have read on here recently. This is surprising to me.
Really..? That surprises me too.

I just started my car after 5 months of winter storage with no battery conditioner. The car started easy on first try, partly because of the battery isolation switch.

You might want to take a look at one of these we have a few at work and they'll jump start a diesel transit. The problem will be getting to the battery Battery boosters
