Check out Sterkowski on the web. Nice high end stuff.
Nice range of stuff but in the US and long delivery as well - guess they are made to order.
Actually in Poland. Might be quicker shipping to UK.
When I purchased my Sterkowski Aviator's helmet the quoted delivery time was 5 to 6 weeks; it arrived a few days after I place my order. I may just have been lucky but they do say it's better to be lucky than good!

Worth knowing thanks.

If you have a big head (62+) most off the shelf versions will be tight. Getting a leather helmet made isn't too expensive. I recommend Alain Leathers who do the vintage motoring version of the genre. Beautifully made with red quilted lining. http://www.alainleathers.co.uk/vintage-car-enthusiasts

Richard did you have the cap on the correct way round on your test drive, the peak is apparently supposed to be rearwards? Nice paint & leather colour combination but not the quilting. Fluted leather is the right way to go. I associate quilting with gentleman's dressing gowns as Mr Holmes but each to his own.

Thanks you've given me an idea for period summer wear
Reminds me of an eccentric flat mate back in the 70's, he bought for peanuts an old Healey 100/6 with a badly torn hood. In rainy weather he drove it top down wearing his Mothers old fur coat!

Back to the helmet topic ! If you can Richard try them on before buying , I have several and found that some gape at the sides letting the wind in and some are cut too far back leaving a gap behind the goggles . Also the ones with ear flaps create much more wind noise .

Good advice thanks. Just realised that the one I linked to is offered by a company based at relatively close North Walsham so will likely pop over.
