Does the ECU reset to baseline if it loses power though? Hmmmm....interesting thought!

Does the ECU reset to baseline if it loses power though? Hmmmm....interesting thought! I'm guessing it would. It certainly does on another car I have which uses the Cosworth 2.3 Duratec with an MBE ECU. I also used a gel battery very succesfully. It was half the weight, twice the price and half the size, didn't ever go flat and turned the motor over faster.

Great idea. I'll ask BHM to install one. Much as I hate having to reset the clock every time. Another alternative would be to use one or two of those dinky little Lion jump start battery packs as reserve for your main battery. Plug it into an unswitched fag lighter socket and it'll provide a useful extra reserve for your main battery. Get a couple and you can bring one back to the house every couple of days to recharge it whilst the other sits in the car. It would be completely out of order to suggest getting a friendly electrician to insert a discreet little T piece into the wiring conduit and install a covert charging point next to your bay in the garage, of course ;-)

Charging point would be obvious; it's flat concrete everywhere.

A solar charger? They are used to keep boat batteries charged. no sun light as it's underground Can you not run a cable from solar panel to charger from outside, it's only 12v supply? Just a thought.
