I took delivery of my ARP4 just over a month ago, after returning from my first longish drive on the back of a rescue truck, it is back at the factory hopefully having a variety of issues sorted, engine not running properly (throttle body issue), barometric pressure flash upgrade, handbrake just does not hold, plus , plus, plus. I am interested if my car is the only one with so many issues?

I'm sorry to hear that... My ARP4 wll be delivered in some days. It would be helpful to know the other issues too, could you please tell a little more about these? So i (we) can take an eye on it. Thank you and good luck with your car. By the way - some pictures are always welcome.
Best regards from germany - where are you Simon?

Draw up a chair, get the kettle on & do some reading on here for many first hand feedback reports. The reality is that the car is a hotrod amongst it's breed, and not everyone is willing to sway that way in the 'Family Runabout with the Roof Down' versus 'Road Racer' pendulum scale. Being the first owner of a new model in a limited run, made by people and not computers, you will have to accept that there will be many teething issues to try your patience. It's not a Cosworth made by Ford, it's a Cosworth made at Malvern and there's a huge difference. If you're happy with the choice of car, then stick with it and grow together because as sure as eggs are eggs in a few years time, they will be VERY sorted and as such very enviable. Lots of owners on here & lots of advice, so Welcome.
Steve

Hi Simon, welcome to TM, I suspect you will find it a great place to chat about your car as well as many other things.
There are problems with many ARP4s, most of which you have with yours, but then again it wouldn't be a Morgan if it was properly developed before production started, which of course doesn't make it any less disappointing that a £60,000 car doesn't live up to your expectations. One owner has already changed his for a Roadster after only 500 miles. I am a noted moaner about certain Morgan products, but I've done around 1400 miles in mine since taking delivery in early March, and am loving it more and more. The handbrake still doesn't work, there is no decent torque below 3000, I've had to fit a proper working silencer on it, changed the front suspension, raised the seat and seen the change up light (at 7500) on several occasions. It continues to improve, stick with it, you will love it in the end.

This is the first Trad with rear discs..how does it function?
The Aero based cars have rear discs and on my +8 the handbrake operates a second caliper on each disk. Made by Brembo they are small, but very effective.

... and handbrake should be a 5 minute adjustment surely ? no, unfortunately it isn´t... There simply is no chance of the cable-operated "mini-brakepads"-handbrake to hold the car other than in complete standstill. With my Roadster 3.7 you really have to check that the handbrake has been fully & properly loosened before taking off - the torque simply doesn´t mind it being applied in any considerable way Up to now i didn´t find a proper way to make it work as intended ( did they intend it to work (properly) ?)
It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. 2015 Roadster 3.7
