I just hope they don't stop thinking about "my" fix to think about this new fix.

Its not what should happen with a new car but it shouldnt surprise you given the comments you all make about Morgan build quality.
Its not a safety critical issue and it doesnt impact on the cars driveability. Something the driver can get round easily whilst Morgan work out a solution, rather than mount the high horse as some seem to want to do. "It's not a safety critical issue" I think at MOT it would be I'm sure holding that Cossie engine on the clutch whilst at a standstill on a hill must be great fun without an effective handbrake. All part of the Morgan Experience and a snip at £60k I totally agree with all comments that MMC are the culprit in this thread. However i cannot agree with those who suggest that you can't drive without a handbrake. I NEVER use mine, i am happy to balance the throttle & clutch on any hill start, or elsewhere when driving. NEVER use hand brake to park, the 2nd gear is fine, and if on a steep grade, turn the wheels into the kerb, never fails, all very much common sense. I'm not sure what sort of gradients you have in Kent but you're welcome to visit West Yorkshire and try driving without a handbrake, at the end of the day you probably won't have a clutch plate either

How many unoccupied vehicles are involved in accidents, they are news items often,."owner crushed" "child killed". If this is a problem with your undelivered car, Don't accept it. If you already have the vehicle, contact the dealer and tell him to collect the vehicle and fix it. All quite simple. I would not accept this crap from any dealer. Wake up MMC and get your act together. I would go public in a very big way. We had a child killed in S Wales a few years back, his fathers handbrake slipped as it cooled off. Qne death is to many.

Please accept my apologies, I've deleted my post.
I didn't realise ARP4 ownership was a pre-requisite to posting on the forum.
Shades of the M3W forum in the early days.
Whether intentionally or not, you seem to have deliberately misunderstood my post.

why is that folks who are not ARP4 owners making a much bigger deal of this than folks who are ARP4 owners? That will be because it is a COMMON interest.......Morgan But no other +4 has the same handbrake installation as the ARP4.

50 sets of working disc brakes or handles shouldn't take that long to resolve in all reality.
If you are at all sensible you'd not drive your arp4 and you'd expect compensation of one form or another for the inconvenience.
Hopefully Morgan will do the right thing and contact all owners and not wait for them to find out through forums clubs or social media.

+1 Common MMC seems that this is a common and serious issue that it would be wise to address in a sensible manner.

I love this forum..! So much going on at once, it's like Happy Hour in The Malvern Arms..!! Peter, & every other lucky bugger that's blagged themselves a very desirable & envious ARP4, go and enjoy it. I'm sure MMC will sort it, despite the slapped foreheads. Should they be like this? No, should customers put up with it? No. Should they be driven in the present state? That's up to your own perception of risk.. If it was mine, I would but it would sour the experience for me, and I'd be after some recompense of some sort. In the meantime, I really laughed at Mario's post further back. If there's a Rectifications Dept over at Pickersleigh Road, the queue would be back to the cross roads by now.. Enjoy the car, Peter. It looks fabulous.

I'm looking forward to hearing how much MMC will be charging for the upgrade , I'm also a little surprised that we haven't yet had the usual statement denying that there is a problem ....
