Hi

I have a timber dash on my 2011 4/4 and there is no lock on the glove box, but I got two small Lockwood keys with the car that may or may not belong to the car ( previous owner cannot recall them ) .
Because there are other oddly sited factory switches not covered in the manual, my question is - is the glove box lock worked by a cuningly concealed lock somewhere which I can't find and these keys might fit. Or if it had a lock would it be on the front of the glove box door, and these keys then do not go with the car.

I have keys to the Fuel cap, ignition and Doors and these two odd keys do not match any of them.

Cheers John

Hi John,
I very much doubt that there is a hidden lock for your glove box, but anything is possible. If you have the keys for the ignition, petrol cap and doors, the only other thing I can think of is that you have a foot locker, but I am sure you will have noticed that.
Possibly the previous owner had some sort of lock for securing his luggage to the rack?
I have a cup full of keys at home I don't know what any of them are for but I can't bring myself to throw them away.
Peter

lol. Yup. Have a footlocker as I made it smile

I thought it might have been a padlock for his luggage too as he had the big leather Morgan suitcase which we did not take with the car.

I too have a jar of unknown keys I can't bear to throw out laugh

Bet the bottom drawer in the kitchen is where you put all toys and stuff from breakfast cereal etc, odd how we all have similar traits.

Cheers Peter

I bought all of the workshop benches for my new unit in an auction from the Rolls Royce Fast Jet facility at Ansty which is closing.

In one of the drawers was a box of about 50 unlabelled and unknown keys, none of which fit the cabinets

And I haven't thrown those away..... blush

You must be an optimist - you know that those keys don't fit anything you own !!

I have a box of keys that I have avoided throwing away and very occasionally I find something like an old padlock and lo and behold I have a key that fits

I even have labels on mine, and keep the ones that I know go to something long gone. Why do we do this?? We are very strange.

Cheers,
