I plan to spend a week of morganing in the Alsace area this late spring.
So far I have decided to see the Schlumpf museum and the Strasbourg Münster (the dome).
All the rest should be nice roads, great scenery, reasonable food and affordable hotels - or nice hotels, great food, affordable roads and reasonable scenery or any other combination of the 8 parameters.
On fun trips I do not have a fixed route and I never have hotel reservations but keep some freedom to drift around, to follow the wind and to avoid bad weather when possible. I will try to mentain this travel philosophy but it is always good to have some more information available to find nice spots.

Any recommendations what I must not miss in that part of France?

I think you've nailed it. Nancy's really nice if that counts as Alsace.

Did someone mention Colmar? We were travelling in a group on a tight budget and stayed there overnight (on way back from Austria) once in the bonsai hotel worst hotel ever, two of our party were woken up in the night by the adjoining room asked if they wanted to share the Russian prostitutes to split the costs! Rooms were grubby to boot. After that we learnt the lesson of never letting others book our accommodation and not use the word budget

No help I guess......

We have just done a week in the region with our French Morgan friends. Fabulous.
Not to miss is the Peugeot museum. I will try to fill in a bit more when I can do it on a proper keyboard, not the cell phone.

Best western hotel Riquewihr I have used twice with the Mog , it has secure underground parking, not a long drive then to the shlumpf

Friday evening I will leave for the Alsace area.
King pins got fresh grease and tyre pressure was checked.
Today I'll get the car polished and than I hope for good weather...
