I have to say that I'm firmly in the Yes camp when it comes to greasing. It's a good chance to have a run around with the spanners and give everything a wipe down. You also get to grease the spines and check the inside edges of the tyres. 
Here for a good time not a long time!!

I am too old to crawl on my belly to get my KP's greased. That is why I don't. And have not for about 20 years.

Greasing overrated SPORT. Well you do get a double dose  of it.

Just about to do my first greasing, glad for all the info on this forum but not at all sure about the damper blades, still, once I get under there I am sure it will all be obvious?

You can't miss them if they are there Ken. Look for a piece of spring steel between the stub axle leading back to the chassis.

Which "end" needs prising up, I assume it will be the end with the hole?

The end with the hole. You won't find a small jam jar though.
