Interesting that the opening is about 50% on this one. I am wondering about putting a mesh of some sort behind the opening to stop the possibility of catching small birds smile

Yes dear Peter, i ranted on them about that as i specified the BIG aperture specifically... redcard

... but work on that is in progress, micro-grinder is on the bench for this weekend (+ the stainless wire mesh for the then-proper-sized air intake laugh2) wine

I questioned the two sizes of opening when on a visit to the factory as I wanted the larger opening too.
The reason given was that two different companies make the air vent off site. .

...and so did i (as i had the "proper" aperture on my former Roadster).

Unfortunately someone didn´t pay attention (in time...) swear

Guys

Don't forget that the bigger the aperture , the more the drag , and the more air that is going to be rammed under the bonnet.

This will affect both the airflow into and escape from the under bonnet area.

Make sure your bonnet fastenings are really up to the job.
