Yesterday we got a call from 0015094884473 - an international number. We were out but MrsW did a 1471 when she returned.

I checked the number on a checking site, and it's the "I'm from Microsoft and you have a virus" brigade.

They rang again this morning at 0930 - we let it ring but it rang for a very long time.

I'm sure that the typical TM poster won't get caught out by this one, but just so you know.

Definately a scam!

And the PayPal one is too. Do take extra care with this its very sophisticated.

And let's not forget the Inland Revenue " refund" that's doing the rounds as well.

As a 100% cynic I don't even believe the genuine stuff.
I see too much of it at work. That being false documentation.

And as I've said before, HMRC never sign off with "Regards". Every tax refund notification I've had by e-mail, and I've had a lot, have been signed off "Regards".

There is also alot of supermarket discount and cash offers email which are suspect.
Also they are using area code numbers so you think it is someone local calling.in my case 01745 before number

Got one last week a Michael ( Asian voice ) he wanted to talk to as he was from Barclays . Thats odd does not use Barclays . I told him to OFF then put the phone down . What the thick idiot does not grasp is is tighter than two coats of paint with her accounts. Even Putin and the Russian army would fear asking.

I let them talk, get them going then normally swear down the phone at them , not big I know but neither are they.....

Yep....getting LOTs of emails from so called PayPal, UK banks, and Inland Revenue over the past week.
Been getting a Paypal one at a rate of about one a day for the past four months.

...my delete key is going to be worn out pretty soon at this rate.

P!$$ed off I am....

I forward them all to "spoof@paypal.co.uk".

Also had a call this morning from an Indian sounding lady from Mircrosoft. She was very rude indeed. I asked her quite nicely how well did she sleep at night given the type of work she did and she hung the phone up on me!

We get maybe 3 a day. If I am in the home office I sometime answer for fun. The MS one is great for wasting their time as I can never seem to click the correct thing!
