I like to be polite but firm with them and tell them I will hang up if they get pushy and do so.. The "you have won a £1,000" one's I love I tell them I don't want it thanks and the call soon ends...

I did read once of someone who was so frustrated by the waste of his time in fielding all of these calls, be they fraudulent or just unsolicited calls. He set up an 0898 number, and whenever he received such a call, would transfer them to that number.

I had one of those claims company calls "about your recent accident". Asked them if I could give some advice. I said " get a job with an ethical company", he swore at me & rang off.
