I see the anniversary 4/4 is priced at £39995. A reasonably specced 4/4 with mohair roof comes out about £37500. Which is the better buy?

There seem to be a high number of very high specced 4/4 and plus 4 available at £44000 to £49000. This seems a bit steep and I reckon will be hard to shift.

From next April there will be a pretty punitive VED hike on cars over £40000. Not many Morgans with a few extras available under that figure. Having read another thread about pretty dire customer after sales it's something the company needs to address for buyers of £40,000 cars.

Hmm, I know where you're coming from but the Anniversary has some unique parts that aren't available to normal 4/4's, and it's also a limited edition so it's correct marketing.

Only an individual can make the choice, and good luck to them..!

I'm sure the new VED scheduling will be on MMC's agenda, and as they now have Mr De Roos on board, watch this space..

Looking at the CV, I reckon the new director has to increase prices by £100 per car just to recover his cost!

The answer for a bespoke car maker like Morgan would be to sell the basic car for less than 40k and have an after sales dept organised to install extras after registration and delivery. A sort of semi kit car approach rather like the way that the likes of Lotus used to sell the early Elans to avoid purchase tax.

When the 430 is 14 years old the annual road tax will be £500 or so whilst that on the replace model sold in 2017 will be 170 and the 40 year old will be FOC. That doesnt make sense.

Crikey, Dennis de Roos is a Dutch native and a fellow country man. This must be good news! hide
Is this a first: a forreigner in MMCs management?
I guess this is indicative that Brexit is not going to happen...
Scary part is that Morgan prices in NL are way more expensive than in UK...

Anyway, best of luck to him in new role.

I met him yesterday. I must say that I've only just realised his nationality....he speaks English like a native! He's bloody tall....gave me a crick in the neck chatting to him!!

1. All the Dutch seem to speak English better than the English do
2. Dutchmen do seem to be unbelievably taller than us!
3. I should have a challenge fitting in a trad & an M3W

Should help take some pressure off Steve M a bit so good news.

Perhaps he'll persuade Morgan to extend the chassis on all three cars!

Not just us. I read somewhere the statistic that the Dutch are on average the tallest people in europe. I dont know the reason but I do wonder if its anything to do with a protein rich breakfast - all that cheese ham and herring.
