If that comes to pass it will be interesting, especially with a sorted ECU.

Bring back twin SU's and good old points. We could have a go at fixing it then rather than have a magic box talk to another magic box just so the car knows what it is supposed to be doing. Just call me a Luddite. I think this was brought on by a nice day sailing my brown sailed, wooden mast Lug Sail boat.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

Just echoing Lowerbird here: I am thinking about changing and have already been out and about in a BHM Plus Four but am increasingly put off by a lot of what I read on this forum. As you know I am very pleased with my M16 ,and so far after 18 years is generally trouble free. It is also a lot quicker it seems than a GDI and certainly quicker than my friends Duratec Plus Four. I really do not know what to do at the moment, maybe a nineties Plus Eight but one of those can't even make 60mph in second. Any thoughts ladies and gentlemen?

Oh there you are Chris. I am still trying to get you know who down to you. Why change? I guess, given how long I have had this one, the next will be my last and I was thinking of the improvements in modern construction and the longevity that accompanies it. and I do want more grunt - you know what it is like here, there are lots of times when slow moving traffic around 90kph needs to be despatched when the opportunity presents itself. I drive around the 3000-3500 mark so I am not a racer but I do like an engine to deliver when asked. When we do catch up again have a drive, see what you think. 4500 gives 130kph in third.

Concerning grunt I quite agree with you, but personally I would go for the older +8 option for several reasons - simplicity, ease of maintenance, and (at least for me) a classic +8 remains les couilles du chien... But in the meantime, get yourselves down here !
