Nigel,
I would be very interested and grateful if you can find the file. I will then have to borrow a Windoze computer as all mine are Macs.

Does Protune only run on windows? I am afraid so, I only have mac now but managed to get the software to run on a very old windows laptop but only by downloading it first onto the mac and then transferring it via a USB stick.

I was told yesterday by Marcassus Sport that you cannot have the new factory firmware flashed onto the ECU unless you have a cooling fan fitted, which I don't. To try and reduce the pinking. I have therefore ordered 3 x 500ml bottles of Millers CVL Turbo octane booster as an experiment. Wilson - are you still running the stock exhausts? If so, then this is the reason for the pinking (extreme, localised heat build in the combustion chamber) and any ECU 'fix' will only back off timing as a cheap way to address the issue. Performance can only be optimised by improving flow and the exhaust silencer is critical here. But if you're keen to maintain the stock hardware, then octane booster might be the only option. Before my G56 kit, I used a Millers boost, which only required a small amount per fill and was supposed to pick things up by a couple of RON. It worked to a certain extent, but turned the exhaust (and plugs) very brown, although not to any further detriment in terms of performance from what I could tell. But it's a 'dirty' fix at best - the real solution is of course to let the engine breathe, as we've discussed on here many times before.

When I went to Kh a couple of months back, I drove their red JAP with the stage 1 upgrade. This thing goes like a rocket. When I questioned them about it, they said it was their own upgrade not Morgans. The air intake was stock. The pipes looked stock but very loud.
70 in third and still pulling. Then I ran out of road. Amazing but too loud in a quiet neighbourhood.
I have no idea what this car will do on a straight road track.

With my car when its built they suggested removable baffles. The Morgan stage exhaust features removable baffles, great for the hard of hearing That said it is not an easy job. I have had mine out , but now back in with no wadding. Also playing with Dbkillers to add another permutation.

I don't like the look of the Brooklands ones, which seem to be even more prone to breakages than the standard ones, although hopefully I have cured that by removing the front silencer mount and putting a considerably larger silentbloc with over double the weight capacity on the rear mount, which allows the silencers to rock along with the engine rather than fighting it. Who are these KH folk? I am not worried about noise in the rural area of France I live in. None of the Harley's round here seem to have silencers, so why should I worry? If they have a better, cooler running if noisy system, I would be interested in talking to them. Wilson
