Just spent the afternoon removing the seats and making wooden spacers to put under the runners, seats now move back and forth without having to sit on them and shuffle back and forwards to make them move!!.
Thanks Dave for putting the photo on the forum the other day, it gave me the incentive to have a go.

No problem Ian. I'm on my third set! Once you've got this far there's a temptation to get the perfect thickness and seat height!

Hi Dave, doing that was enough! forgot about the wires for the seat belt warning light and when I lifted the seat out fortunately they unplugged without damaging!!!

It is nice being able to move the seats from outside the car to access the rear shelf though, again thanks, without the photo kicking me into action I wouldn't have attempted it.
(shame the factory skilled craftsmen can't do that though) You'll be making another set ready for the new car?

Yes - new spacers made up and finely glossed in black!
Much better to make some in advance to just drop in!

I made some angled ones higher at the front than the rear and that way we don't slide forward on the seat on braking.

Front same height as the cross member and rear about 1/5"

Dave. Do you have the measurements required? I would like to organise a pair to be ready for when I take the seats out.

I can get the measurements Peter - unless somebody beats me to it!
My Roadster appears to have factory spacers which are cross member height at the front and shallower at the rear. When the dash changed from two big gauges plus four small, the dash became deeper and the spacers were discontinued because the gap to the steering wheel decreased.

Could you not just put a shallow countersink hole in the floor for the bolt head to drop into and eliminate the need for a spacer block?

Hi Uther, I'm no expert by any means but after having removed the seat it was easy to make spacers, I would have been worried about countersinking a hole for the bolt as I think you would have to go right through the floor to get the required depth, also I only needed to remove one seat, made two sets of spacers (four spacers per seat) I could then just remove the bolts, slip the spacers under the second seat, replace the bolts and retighten, job done, no holes in the floor.

Yes you can as that's what my car had. It does not need to go right through the floor. I've now made some wedge shaped riser blocks as I like the seat a tad heigher at the front.
