Yes you need brakes on the trailer for UK. Really think you would want them anyway

Also, I found that the nose weight was excessive when I loaded the M3W forward facing. My trailer is twin axle and I load with the M3W facing backwards.

I will try to post a pic when I have a week or two of spare time...unless someone can advise an easy way to get photos on here.......

What a fabulous trip you will have Gentlemen - I sooo wish I was able to join you. But alas, the planets have not aligned for me this year, as I missed the Albert Blatt for similar work commitment reasons too. Plus my car is currently dead, but I'll ask you all for advise in another post presently.

Charles,

We're very happy to read that you will join us again in Grindelwald !!
But to come with your M3W on a trailer ....... ? A young chap like you ?
Trailers are only allowed for the elderly.
Secondly ...........the route I have in mind and will put together will be so beautiful via winding roads that you will blame yourself immensely that you can't drive your M3W.
I will keep everyone informed about the route and the hotels later on.
The start/meeting point will be at Ibis hotel in Dinant Belgium.
Check out the hotel website or Tripadviser.

Lauren's any update on the route and overnight stops after Dinant Belgium?

I've been in touch with Laurens and we are going firm on the stopovers being:

Sun 28th - Dinant Ibis hotel

Mon 29th - Saverne, suggested hotel:

https://www.logishotels.com/en/hotel/hotel-chez-jean-et-winstub-s-rosestiebel-1794

Tue 30th - Besencon, suggested hotel:

http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-1220-mercure-besancon-parc-micaud-hotel/index.shtml

Laurens will work on the route but I think we should go ahead and get the hotels booked.

If anyone knows Saverne or Besecon and has other suggestions let us know.

cheers

Sorry guys, a slight change of plan innocent

Laurens is working on the detailed route and Saverne to Besencon is looking like a bit too long. We're now planning to overnight in Belfort and then take a shorter (but still scenic) route to Grindelwald.

I hope this is OK with everyone on this route?

If anyone has a hotel suggestion in Belfort shout out now, otherwise I'll post a suggestion later.

So to confirm, the itinerary is now:

Sun 28th - Dinant Ibis hotel

Mon 29th - Saverne, suggested hotel:

https://www.logishotels.com/en/hotel/hotel-chez-jean-et-winstub-s-rosestiebel-1794

Tue 30th - Belfort, suggested hotel tba

Wed 1st Grindelwald

How about this one

Grand Hôtel Du Tonneau D'Or
1 rue Reiset, 90000 Belfort, France

Looks rather splendid - parking and it's on booking.com too
