Can't wait to go back.

Grey is such an underrated colour, it looks fantastic on the aero.

Once I'd managed to get it to start we took our +8 out for a good run on B/H Monday.
Wow what an ego trip, the number of people that either waved or gave a thumbs up was incredible.
Stopped at a pub for a break and spent ages answering all the questions about the car.
So still driving with the same silly grin I had after the test drive!

Thats it - it is now under your skin. Any problems will be a bump in the road. Some bigger than others.

Welcome.

We both did...

Caroline drove to Stockbridge, I drove back.

She is smooth, controlled and refined. But works hard at it and after an hour is tired. But she is good and probably needs to drive tarka more, on her own....

I'm smooth, but less controlled and refined...unless I'm being a real hoon I don't work hard at it, but can drive for hours.

The "SS Plus 8" certainly respondes to a more "driven" style, by encouraging speeds that may not be appreciated by all.

I overtook a nice newish Mercedes E220 on the long straight out of Stockbridge.
There was a car comming the other way, but far enough away that it didn't matter unless it was Aeroman in his new toy.... evil

Clearly the Merc owner thought otherwise and as I pulled out into the other lane he braked, hard. At the same moment I floored Tarka and shot pased him in about 3 car lenghts. laugh2 laugh2

Caroline said the look on his face was priceless...along the lines of "how did he do that in such an old car" oldgit .

Perhaps my "bike overtake" procedure confused him, in that when I pull out into the other lane I'm at the same speed as the car in front, so I can always pull back. Then when it is clear I floor the car. In Tarka this causes an explosion of sound and a rapidly accellerating "old" car...

All good fun.

I think other road users are always a little surprised by 911 levels of acceleration from what at first appears to be a geography teacher's car. smile

I suspect it is more about being overtaken than the car, it is a lost art these days. Everyone closes up so no gaps to get into and as a result it becomes a chain of many cars and no overtaking. The westy was good for overtaking, it was small very light and massively fast which made squeezing into a gap easy.....I do miss it.😳

Car hasn't left the tiefgarage all week. In a couple of weeks we are spending the weekend at Schwangau, and Neuschwanstein Castle. This was the castle which featured in the ChittyChittyBangBang film. Should be good in the Speedster - and a test as its 1200km in one weekend.
