Its secured at the rear as well. At some point in production a different mount was employed seemingly to spread the torque reaction load from the box's rear mounting points. This retro-fit kit illustrates the metalastic bushes (11) isolating the box from the chassis.

Due to the two bearings in two separate housings it could be that the once set tolerances for the pinion/crown wheel has changed after the driving force has passed the two to each other bolted housings.
Perhaps I'm completely wrong with my simple ideas, but there must be a reason that one box is screaming and the other not even when they are from the same year. As long we don't know the cause we can't find the solution. I am fairly sure the two pinion bearings would both be in the detachable housing, if they weren't there would be no way of assembling the unit.

A couple of oil updates: So unfortunately no real conclusion - the NVH and Redline shockproof seem to have mixed success. Of course "noisy" is subjective and with the BB mounted on what is in effect an aluminium sounding board it's never likely to be quiet. With Mark Evans active on the other Bevel Box thread we may get some more insight and comments. It will be interesting to hear from Garage56 how their investigations are getting on. For me, I'm thinking of giving the Miller EP140 a go as Dab of Oppo and Atlanta83 have had good experience with this.

Guys The information you've started to collate is great, I'm wondering if we could push it a bit further and see if we can build a better picture.
Questions i'd like to add (if possible?);
Has the noise got worse over time (or constant)? What tension have you got the belt at? Is the belt alignment true (as far as you can tell)?
As Chriss99 says noise is subjective, vehicles that leave the factory are found to be acceptable / within our parameters during road test.

Mark Evans This is a good idea can I suggest we all measure the belt tension the same way. Perhaps by putting a straight edge along the underside of the drive belt and then measure the upward deflection in the middle of the belt, by using only light finger pressure. The alternative is to measure the twist but it is more difficult to measure angles accurately. Also can we add is it noisy all the time or only when hot, mine is not noisy until about an hour of motorway running.

Hello
Has the noise got worse over time (or constant)? NA
What tension have you got the belt at? 42% twist @ center.
Is the belt alignment true (as far as you can tell 1.5mm overhang on rear 1mm gap on front 6mm clear of tyre wall. On the left looking from the back.

Hi Mark. Is there anyway to measure the sound of the bevel box when it leaves the factory? This may also help with diagnostics further down the line.

Hi Mark. Is there anyway to measure the sound of the bevel box when it leaves the factory? This may also help with diagnostics further down the line. It's British! It's done by ear. BTW Mark... I have three signatures under the boot on my 2016, Pete Smith who assembled her beautifully, Mark Cerrone, and the test driver who wrote a nice little sentiment and signed his initials, EM. Who is EM?

Mark Evans Hi Mark, Glad this is helping and I'm happy to add the additional info to the spreadsheet and add a comments section.

Replying to Mark Evans additional questions:
Has the noise got worse over time? Each of my three boxes has started quiet up to 1k miles, then got significantly worse after that.
What tension is the belt? Constant over time at half inch vertical in the centre , lower run.
Is the alignment true? Absolutely, never had it track off centre.
