A factory tour will show that the Aero is a mass of electronics with (I believe) four 'black boxes'. If this short always appears on the road, then it must (one would have thought) be vibration induced. I would start by checking every connector, but that's much easier said than done. The other option is to run the engine at idle and waggle the wires around in the hope that this will make it blow. A circuit diagram would really help. thinking

<<Does anybody knows whether the factory would take it back (at their cost)to look at it deeply ?>>

Jean Pierre, I am sorry to hear about your problems, what a pity that you are unable to reliably use such a stunning car.

In '04 When my +8 had to be returned to the factory under warranty, I had to arrange to ship it to Portsmouth, and they sent down a driver to pick it up from Portsmouth and take it to the factory. But in your case, as you are so far from a port and the car is not reliable, I would have thought that it would be reasonable to have it shipped all the way.

But your dealer should "own", this problem not you

Thank you Robert for your message.
I will do whatever is possible during the warranty time. However, if not resolve during the period of warranty I hope they will continue to take care of it. Otherwise... spend
Best regards

Hi JP

Of course I am really sorry this is really denting your enjoyment of your loveley car frown

However I understood that Simon was on the case (as he has done so on numerous occasions for others - thumbs notworthy ) and spoken to them and that the factory will be doing their utmost to resolve?

I do echo someone elses shout above that it should be the dealers responsibility ultimately though of course they may want to take it up with the factory confused

Good luck with getting it sorted.

Cheers

Thank you Boshly for your supportive message.
Simon is giving me a great help which is really fantastic.
The winter being rather long in Switzerland, I hope the matter will be solved for the sunny days. Let's be optimistic, it's not yet the time to celebrate the death of my AERO :pumpkin:

Nice day to you.

Off topic but as I have never been to the country just how wintery is it*? (Does it depend massively with altitude and such?) How much of the year can you realistically use a high-powered RWD car?

*I'm aware that sounds silly in a country renowned for skiing but I always see pictures of large towns and it seems perpetually sunny and filled with nice marques!

Off topic but never mind.
From mid April till end of October you can daily use an F-40 on every road in Switzerland without even thinking about snow or salt.

The other months of the year you may not wish to drive her because of (possible) salty roads. However, for people who do not care about salt all roads do not represent a problem below an altitude of 800 meter. In town, during winter time there is hardly one day of snow per year.

Switzerland is friendly with powerful RWD cars' users and there are plenty of them. Mountain roads are simply fantastic but I would recommend them from end of March till end of October.

I love the F-40 !

For your information :

The Aero is going back to the factory for a careful check by the factory. They are going to pick it up in Geneva.
Thanks to the friends who helped me (they will recognise themselves)!

LATEST NEWS ! sunny

Just to bring you up to date on the position of my car, the factory have found the fault which caused the fuse to blow. This was to do with the charcoal canister unit and one of the wires had a small split in the covering and was occasionally grounding and causing the fuse to blow. They proved this by actually shorting this area to ground, which caused the fuse to blow on each occasion we did this.

A great news overall.rofl

Wishing you a Merry Christmas ! :xmascheers:
