I also have a 2014 and noticed the same problem last year, especially on the driver's side exhaust. I now use Simichrome Chrome polish on this area as soon as I start to see the rust (usually every 2 weeks) and have been able to keep it under control. It still looks like new with regular polishing.

The problem is worse during the summer months when it's warm and humid and goes away in the winter.

I also use Fein Multimaster https://www.amazon.com/Fein-FMM-350Q-201...ein+multimaster and some felt polishing pads https://www.amazon.com/Fein-63723032010-...+polishing+pads, which saves a lot of time instead of buffing the rusted area by hand. Usually only takes me a few minutes to clear up the problem and get a mirror shine with this.

Thanks for all the suggestions. 2013bluem3w, sounds like hot and humid Houston and central FL are a main culprit - I did not notice this during the winter months. Interestingly enough, it is also worse on the driver's side for mine...I think I'll try your clean up technique and then see if hi temp paint will reduce re-incidence, as RoadsterBoy and others have suggested.

It has to be the humidity. Personally, I'm not sure I would try the paint as I'd be too worried about overspray or changing the look of chrome finish. It's definitely more work to keep it polished, but it's such a small area that it's not too much trouble.
