Being new to the world of Morgan ownership and located in an area where there are not many of them on the road, I have several questions that I am hoping the kind forum contributors could answer. The first is what do you typically do with the sidescreens when going for an extended drive in threatening weather? My car, a 1995 4/4, came with a soft bag for storing the curtains and the hood when it is not installed on the car. With the sidescreens in the bag, it does not want to fit behind the seats. I imagine one could strap it to the luggage rack, to the exclusion of luggage. I have just been leaving the sidescreens attached to the car and storing the hood in the bag behind the seats. Aside from buying a new rack with sidescreen storage, what do others do? Thanks. John

Thats it... i installed this now a couple of weeks ago, and it is just super, for sidescreen bag, i found a bag that originally did hold a folding bicycle and is from good fine quality... that was it for me..... but to be honest... if not super warm weather, i leave the sidescreens attached since there is a substantial difference in turbulence...

Euh... I think this is the most convenient solution.

More convenient that put them on the laps of your pasenger.

A luggage rack with side screen storage is not very expensive and is easy to fit.

I am surprised that they don't fit flat behind the seats on the parcel shelf; they do on mine. Each to his own I guess but I leave mine in the barn unless I'm going to England.Hope that you are enjoying your car: there are not many here either-haven't seen any this year. Meabh.

Mine don,t fit easily behind the seats on my old 94 4/4 or my current 97 +4.

I now have a rack with storage.

And you can always advertise and sell the old one through the MSCC Miscellany magazine. That is where I found and bought my first one from someone upgrading to 'side screen' storage. Happy Motoring.

Provided I'm careful, I can store them and hood behind the seats on my '76 bench seat 4/4. Takes up quite a lot of height though. If we're going away in the car I normally put sidescreens and hood (in a HoE bag) on top of the case thats on the rack.
The '98 +4 has sidescreen storage below the rack - very useful! So useful, I'm considering changing the 4/4's rack...

But I usually leave them at home, because they disturb the line of the car. Especially, when I want to take pictures

As a few posts have said, one very popular way to deal with this is by a luggage rack which has a sidescreen stowage facility.

I didn't want to get one of these because my personal view is that the extra width disturbs the lines of the car, so I have slightly different set up.

I use a fairly standard lowline rack and a shaped, padded waterproof bag. I got mine from Heart of England Morgans but other dealers offer them.
The one 'extra' I did add was a sheet of shaped foam to go between the sidescreens when they are in the bag. The perspex is very soft and this prevents scratching

I find that I can strap the bag onto the luggage rack and still have room for a small suitcase and also the bag which stows my hood/tonneau.

The reason for a smallish case, rather than something like Steve Simmonds 'American Tourister' item is that I don't like a lot of weight overhanging further out than the rear axle /suspension because in my car's case, it alters the steering 'feel'.
The case fits into a shaped, ripstop nylon cover which I had made, complete with cloth Morgan wings badge.

If I want extra luggage storage, I have a set of Rob Hills' shaped bags which go behind the seats

I've used this set up a lot, including trips lasting up to a week and more and it works very well.
