I have decided to go for a G56 Stage One kit. I am just currently trying to arrange to get it out to France as standard carriage is over £200.

At one point I had to courier a decent sized box from the UK to Nederlands and used one of this courier portal; iPost Parcels Parcel2Go Just in case these are cheaper....

I am in luck. We have a repaired Citroen DS19 Henri Chapron bodied "Le Caddy" Cabriolet coming out to France only about an hour away from me, in the next few days. The stage one kit is going on that and should be on TNT today to the place where the Caddy is at present. The ECU is still undergoing final tweaks and checks on the mapping and should be finished within a few days. I am coming back to the UK for a few days at the end of the month and that can go back in my hand luggage.

Just a point for anyone like me considering going down the new exhaust/intake route, I cannot praise Garage 56's service enough. Chris Horton, answered my first query with a detailed email on a Sunday, the same day I sent the email. I had a very helpful phone call with Chris the next day and by that evening, an invoice had been raised and settled. The next day, my stage one kit was on its way to the person in the UK, who is organising its transport to France along with another vehicle.
This is in total contrast to KrazyHorse, where after three emails and two phone calls, I have still heard zip! Obviously with customer service like this, they have no interest in selling their product and one can only assume that any post sale queries or requests for assistance will be met with similar indifference.

Wilson Exactly my experience of the G56 guys too Wilson - outstanding service. I have now received their mapped version of the VFI ECU and it will hopefully be fitted by the dealer (together with a replacement Stepper Motor/ICV), before the weekend. Looking forward to getting out and about in the car once more...

I think I am waiting for the results of your ECU, to check the coding, before Chris sends me mine (pre-paid for). I am only back in the UK from Saturday to Thursday - so hurry up! :-) Wilson

How is the new G56 ECU R1NGA? I notice you have it now according to the car register details. I assume it isn't locked and you can alter the settings? If that is the case you could alter the Wheel Speed Gear Factor numbers for the speedometer to correct the 8% over read, that Morgan seem to be unable to do. There is a procedure in the S&S manual. A small but annoying item I know and it will also knock 8% off your recorded mileage, legally.

Indeed, new ECU fitted and car drives beautifully again. It is indeed open and programmable, but I need Matt in Wales to do anything more to this I think, should I feel the need to add any further mods to my car (I am very tempted by the Roller Rockers and Stage-2 cams I must say...). First impressions during my brief drive home trying to avoid the rain are of an engine that is particularly smooth on small throttle, light load - possibly more so than before. Full throttle through the range is excellent and at least as strong in terms of pull as with the MMC unit and it is still delivering with gusto up to the limiter at 5,500rpm. Same limit as I had before - at least as far as my rev-counter displays - so all in all a good fix. Of course there's no real difference over stock MMC version apart from having an ECU mapped specifically for my G56 Stage-1 kit, but that's as it should be and therefore all the better for it. If I do go to Matt for more mods (or even a mapping to uniquely match my particular engine), then it will be the icing on the cake. But for now I have an engine that breathes as it was designed and is managed by a 3D map that was manipulated to suit that easy-breathing setup. So not tuning, just optimising in my book! Happy
