Andy - correct - not a fan of Avons. Too knife edge in the wet for me. But Vredesteins have just become unobtainable in that size and my last hope - Blockleys touched the top cross tube at the spring mounting. Even the Avons only have about 6mm clearance there. The tyres in the pics are new, it's the trim shop floor that needs a sweep.

Is the hinge on the gas cap, for all new cars, located at the bottom?? So the cap flops down. I have thought the caps were to go the other way, e.g. with the hinge up.
Cheers,
Mark

I posted in Chapter 1 by mistake...... Great to see your car being built. A big plus for buying new! Out of curiosity, are they able to do some " DaveW's How To..." tweeks for you during build?

No Dave's how to's at the factory but many will follow in my third volume of how to...... The only blip so far has been the front frame. As I mentioned earlier a minor point but that would have been icing on the cake, or in my case the choc chips in my cookie. _________________________ DaveW 2005 Red Roadster S1 2012 4/4 75th Anniversary 2016 Plus 4 in build

Presumably these are on 5.5" rims?

Listed as 5" rims Tim. They work well enough but an extra half inch of offset would ease the clearance to the upper cross tube!
