Hello everyone, I'm James from Chester. I've just sold my Lotus 2 Eleven track car and am looking forward to purchasing a Morgan as a marginally more civilised and perhaps usable option.
I've got lots of learning to do and I'm enjoying the knowledge here on the forum. My goal is to buy a car either new or used and set it up for a combination of both touring and track purposes, by which I mean fast, planted but pliant, well braked and reliable.
The low weight and looks of the 4/4 appeals, particularly if I can find a way of getting to say 220bhp. (Supercharging?).
Having driven a new Plus 4 I hope there are a range of options available to reduce the front end crashy ride and vagueness?
Any advice welcome!
We all need something to believe in, I believe and have another beer.

Welcome to TM and the world of Morgans. Plenty of options to get 200bhp and depending on your budget. I am sure those best in the know will advise you.

Hello James, welcome to TM. Have a chat with Cain, Wolf Perfomance and Peter at Mulfab. SimonH on here of Sifab is also a mine of racing and tuning information, I believe he's worked on a variety of race and tuned Morgans.

Any advice welcome! James , I came to Mogs via a Caterham 7 which was crazy fast but wanted a Mog because it was old school massively characterful and in the case of a 2L Duratec tunable ! But don't expect to go really fast as the mad suspension is a bit old school unless you upgrade to a 5 lever link suspension on the back and even then the front is difficult to mod. Also be ready for purists on here who say you mustn't change the beast ! Ok, enjoy the Mog ! ( I am very fond of my Mog now ! )

Hi James and welcome.
Lots of advice on here so you are in the right place.
I am not the right one to ask. But you should look at a sorted Super Sport.

Hi James
Welcome to TM and impending Morgan ownership. I'm in Helsby so can't be very far away from you. I did have a +4SS for a short while but get my kicks from the humble 4/4 which I love to death.
Let me know if you want a chat/meet up some time - there are one or two of us locally that might be able to shed some light on all things Morgan...

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your search - sooner or later the right car will find you. BTW - suspension improves when run in - so depending on how new the +4 you drove was, you may find a difference on a car with a few thousand miles on it.

Every car on the Morgan challenge grid has parts I've made And I did the development work for Ford on the Sigma engine whilst at university... Simon @ SiFab.co.uk

Welcome from down-under. There's a Morgan for everybody, not least as no two are the same!
Enjoy.
