Wow, they look fantastic, like an aircraft wheel.....but, now you know they look so good, you"re going to have to clean them inside and out!

That instruction implies somebody has boobed. No way should a bolt on a split rim wheel require checking that often.

To my mind, either the bolt is stretching, or the wrong combination of washer and nut has been used. I'd have thought a stiff nut (nylon insert type) and a plain washer would have been right, but given those torque figures, I guess a plain nut is used. Spring washer perhaps?

Why not forget 3 piece split rim wheels altogether and go for heavy, one piece wheels with good solid rims you can hit the kerb with?
