Agreed that getting wet is an occupational hazard with an M3W, but the Fairburn screen does deflect the rain better than the supplied slit screen. The water driving through the gap in the middle at the bottom can be stopped... I think....
Tim You need a short length of closed cell foam for the gap. I bit of experimenting with width will close the gap & not be too noticeable. I find you need to be more scrupulous in keeping the Fairbourne screen clean Tim

In the rain yesterday the front seal on the Fairbourn windscreen did a good job of stopping water coming in through the front (at speed) which was appreciated by my little co-pilot Max.  Went for a Father's Day jaunt with middle son today. Just fitted the 280 mm fuel sender and went from 27% empty to 70% full. Nice to know that the fuel gauge is now a bit more truthful. Also took the opportunity to clean up the rear (not very dirty) and check out the belt and new rear steel sprocket: all ticketyboo. Tim

Mounting a mobile phone in the M3W is a bit challenging, but would be useful when using it as a GPS. I purchased one of these recently but couldn't find anywhere to put it where it didn't look pig ugly. Might be OK in the new motorhome that we get next week.  The actual holder was quite neat however. So I turned up a stainless steel bolt with a knob on it.  This goes in the passenger dashboard and looks fairly inconspicuous.  With the attachment in place it is a bit less pretty, but that can be removed easily and stowed under the dash.   No point Robert (Grockle) doing this modification, as he won't have signal coverage in N Devon & Cornwall! Tim

For future reference try a Steelie no drilling and can be removed, and buy extras to use in other cars, simples!

I did look at those Adrian, but don't want a magnet on my phone. The dash already had an M6 fixing hole - I simply replaced the bolt.

Tim Curious... Why the objection to a magnet? The magnet is in the mount anyway and it's a razor thin steel plate on your phone or case.
