Hi Guys, Excuse my ignorance, I am still learning and building my confidence (or not) in my very early M3W. Is this a simple DIY item that just involves removing & replacing the existing (with the addition of the specified grade of loctite). Or is there more to it than that - do you need any special tools or expertise?
Again your help & guidance is appreciated.
Thanks Andrew

There is an article in the May edition of Mogmag of what is involved with the crank pulley bolt and cam belt drive upgrade. Some good photos and description of how it is done at the factory. Thanks to Bunny for pointing this out to me. I now have a photographic record of what was done to my car there the other week.

Yes, but I think you have to subscribe. I seem to recall that an online subscription is around half the cost of receiving the paper magazines.

So we even have to pay to see what Morgan might do if they could be bothered to respond to my emails.

Mines is booked in next month for the chassis brace, new cam belt and pulley upgrade and the urban cooling kit. It made sense to have the pulleys done at the same time as the belt.
The last 3 years seems to have flown by.

The article is not rich in technical detail (locktite, torque setting, etc) but does cover basic removal of the gear on the end of the crank. The gear needed to be held with a set of water pump pliers in order to break the bolt loose so I'm unsure what causes them to loosen up in the first place. Looks like the cost of the parts plus a hour of labor.

Just opened my cambelt case to inspect its condition, looked good...I'm just curious about the Pulley upgrade...has my car it already? … picture hereby....or is it the old one?

Ok, checked the photos in this thread...looks like I still have the old one Yes that is the old one. The upgrade has a hex head bolt as opposed to Torx amongst other things.
