These images show the modification to the Morris Minor overriders for fitment to a Morgan.

Essentially, standard mounting whole is closed and repositioned with an 1/8" steel welded bracket. There is a bend and a further slight curved bend that allows the overriders to be balanced for height as well as alignment on a vertical axis.

The overriders are bolted to the existing bumper irons with a 1/2" thick spacer.

I'm afraid that I run with full width bumpers in yellow; it's a throwback to the days when I raced.

I was always nervous of being 'nerfed' up the rear and so fitted them. At the first event after fitting I was nerfed into a spin going through Old Hall at Oulton Park and the other driver then T-boned me on the front offside.

The only damage to my car was some minor surface damage to the powder coating on the bumper and some stress marks in the gel coat to my wing. As the impact was taken by my right front wheel that was on full lock in an attempt to steer into the spin, the rotating wheel ripped the complete front of the other Plus 8 up by 30cm. I felt that that was just deserts as the driver had taken someone out in practice, me in the race then at the next race meeting another competitor.

So you will understand that I'm a fan of full width bumpers and fibreglass wings for very practical reasons.
