Hi This is the result of a three hour tinker session: I like it very much. In my opinion, this is the position where the number plate has to be. For comparison: Sunny Greetings, Ivo

looking forward to see that IRL
If I start modding, read: after body-work-repair I would: - change licence-plates like you - remove top-wing-lights - remove rear reflectors (place 4/4-sports-reflectors)

looking forward to see that IRL will be my pleasure Personally, I like those. But like anything else, it's a matter of taste - remove rear reflectors (place 4/4-sports-reflectors) Yeah, they are really cool. Unfortunately, after removal of the originals, there is a paint job to be done. Sunny Greetings, Ivo

Ivo, Any chance of a step by step guide -- I totally agree that this is much better than the factory position.
Cheers!

Very nice job Ivo! THIS looks like it should be! Got a confirmation that my Sport went into production today, and one of my first modifications will the front and rear plate fixing. My first thought was rotating the original fixture by 180 degrees and attaching it from below – Would you think this is possible? Cheers Sven

Cheers Sven I don't think so. The upper number plate holder and the lower part, where the fog- and backup light are mounted, is one piece. It's made from plastic, so it was very easy, to cut the plate holder of. After having done that, I attached the number plate with a stainless steel angle. As mentioned before "tinker" I'll take some close-up pictures and post them soon. Sunny greetings, Ivo

Exactly my plan! One of the guys with a +8 LM62 did this very job and looked excellent (he has a smaller Swiss Number pLate too!).
I too would be interested in how you removed the rear plate. On investigation on mine it appears that I have to remove the brackets that hold the overriders. As they are mounted through a hole in the rear plate that is not big enough to slide the plate over the brackets with the overriders removed. So the next challenge was to locate how these brackets are attached to the chassis. I saw two bolts but need to see how easy they are to remove and how easy to slide the brackets out to drop the rear plate. I then plan to fabricate a new panel as do not want to destroy the original. Similar to the front number plate 'box' on my car the rear panel is aluminium and harder to cut than the later ones. It is quite strange that one of the other LM62 guys tells me his rear plate is actually seperate and it is possible to remove it. I find it strange as all the LM62 cars were built at the same time with common components.....the mystery of Morgan!
