was wondering if anyone else has had problems with the battery, namely that it just seems to give up the ghost and wont start after a long run? The jump leads are getting to be a pain. Also, who stocks the battery -I tried the normal stores. Is it a special? Many thanks

It is a gel battery, pretty special but not exclusive. The specialist store should have them in stock. They are also used in boats and racecars. Problem with these batteries is that when they go flat, you can't fully reload them. Mine was very unreliable after it was recharged. Had to buy a new one, wich does the job perfectly. Good luck finding a new one.

Hooky Welcome to the forum. Don't know where you keep your car, but if it is in an area with a power point nearby it's well worth investing in a battery conditioner at the same time as a new battery. Just plug in whenever the car is not in use; easily done as you use the cigarette lighter point. Battery in my car has been treated this way pretty much all it's life and at 7 years old performs perfectly. By the way if not already done don't forget to post in Special Information of this forum your chassis number. And before someone else says it "WE NEED TO SEE PHOTOS!"

I bought a small trickle charger/conditioner from Argos as I keep mine in the garage near the power. The end cables can be bolted under the battery terminals to make them permanent leaving a simple cable that can be routed to the end of the engine bay.

Did anyone mention photos ?

was wondering if anyone else has had problems with the battery, namely that it just seems to give up the ghost and wont start after a long run? The jump leads are getting to be a pain. Also, who stocks the battery -I tried the normal stores. Is it a special? Many thanks Due to lack of space the S1 battery is the smallest of any Aero 8 battery. In the S2 forward, they were changed for a more powerful battery; however, even the S2, S3 and S4 batteries are victims of a very rapid drain if the car isn't used regularly. My battery will be dead if the car isn't used within 14-days. As per Philippo and Alistair's comments, I run a battery conditioner on the car. I use a Ctek which I bought new from an eBay seller. Excellent chargers.

Totally agree Simon.
I use a Porsche Charg-o-mat on my S4 more or less continuously. It like the CTEK also works very well.

I run a battery conditioner on the car. I use a Ctek which I bought new from an eBay seller. Excellent chargers. Welcome to the forum Hooky. I also bought a Ctek from an eBay dealer. Neat Size & Excellent with three alternative in line 'plug in' connectors including one for Cigarette Lighter port use convenience. - low price as well. Regarding the Battery Type, does anyone know if the Roadster 100 uses the same type?
